What is my Inbox for?
Your Inbox is where all of your communication is kept. You will find records of all past and present messages and calls.
Your inbox is also where you continue talking with matches once you begin a conversation.
From your inbox, you are also able to favourite conversations, easily access profiles of those you have been in contact with, and report anyone you are concerned about.
How do I send a message to a potential match?
Whether an employer or an employee, there are two ways to send a message to another user and start a conversation.
From the search directory:
This gives you a quick glimpse into what a potential match is looking or offering without having to leave the search page.

- Once you have gone through the list of matches in your area and found someone to reach out to, click Message to write to the user.
- Type your message in the space provided, and click Send A Message.
Tip: Although we do have pre-set messages, you can always change or add to the message as a way to stand out. Be unique, introduce yourself, and let employers know why you think you are good for them!
- Once you have sent your message, conversations with that user will be in your inbox.
From a user’s profile listing:
This option allows you to look over the match's profile and learn more about what they are looking for and who they are.
- Ensure you are logged into your account and navigate to the job search page.
- From there, click on the profile of the individual you would like to contact.
- From the user's profile, selectMessage to write to the user.
Note:You can also call the user via TeleSafe by selecting Call. If you choose to call the user, please see our article How does TeleSafe™ work? For more information.

How do I share my phone number or email address?
The ability to share and hide your contact information is in your hands! Choose who sees your personal information and when.
But first: at CareGuide, privacy is of utmost importance to us. All our sites are designed for communication to happen directly through the website, where we monitor conversations and watch for scammer activity and any bad actors.
This means that contact information is not permitted on profiles and will only be shared in messages by completing the below steps.
- From your inbox, open the conversation with the user you would like to share your contact information and type out your phone number and/or email address in the text box. Click Send.
- Notice the popup warning you about the risks of sharing your contact information online. Read the information in this message carefully, then click on Yes, share.
- Your information will then appear directly in the message window, and the user you are speaking with will be able to see it.
Note: please remember that sharing your private contact information is not recommended. As all in-site conversations are monitored for your safety and security, moving the conversation off-site removes that extra layer of protection and makes you more susceptible to scams. See How do I recognize an online scammer?
Why did a message disappear?
If you have been notified of a new message but cannot find the message in your Inbox, Favourites, or Archived folders, the person who sent the message is no longer advertising on site.
When someone chooses to deactivate their account or the support team removes them from the site. Any messages they have sent are automatically removed from your inbox.
This is done to ensure no one is replying to people who are no longer looking for a match or are not valid users. Also see, How do I recognize an online scammer?
How do I reply to a message?
To respond to an employee or an employer who has reached out to you, simply log into your account and navigate to your inbox.
From there, locate the message(s) you want to reply to and click on the message to open the conversation window. Next, type your response in the text box and hit send.
Note: it is very important to respond whether you are interested or not as it shows good etiquette. It also offers the sender closure so they can move on in their search and will not continue to reach out to you or wait for a response.
How do I continue talking to someone I have messaged?
If you have already begun a conversation with a potential match, you can continue the conversation in your Inbox. To do this:
- Ensure you are logged into your account and navigate to your Inbox.
- Find the user you want to connect with and click on them to open your conversation.
- When responding to a user you have not previously messaged, you may be asked to indicate whether you would like to reply to the message or archive it and continue looking. To respond to the message, click "Yes, Reply."
Note: If you click Not interested, the message will be removed from your main inbox and be moved into your Archived folder. - Type your message in the space provided and click Send. After you click Send, your message will appear in the conversation window.
Why is no one is responding?
Communication works in a messaging format, similar to sending an email to someone. Keep in mind that users will likely take their time browsing the site, before responding.
We suggest allowing users a few days to respond. If you have not received a response from someone you have messaged within 3-5 days, feel free to send them a follow-up message or place a call to them using TeleSafe.
How do I add a conversation to my favourites?
When you have spoken to a great match, adding their conversation to your Favourites is a great way to organize your inbox and quickly find them when you want to follow up.

- Navigate to your inbox and select the conversation.
- Once the conversation is open, click on the heart icon in the top right corner of the conversation window. The heart will turn black, indicating the conversation has been favourited.

The heart will turn black, indicating the conversation has been favourited. - The conversation will automatically be removed from your primary inbox to your Favourites.
To remove someone from your Favourites, simply click the heart icon again, and the conversation will be moved back to your primary inbox. The heart will turn black to white, indicating you have unfavourited the conversation.
Can I delete a message or conversation from my inbox?
No. But you can archive conversations you no longer need. To do this see,How do I archive a conversation?
